A Location Optimization Approach to Refugee Resettlement Decision-Making

Whether due to customary or emerging causes, the growing refugee population precipitates a variety of issues globally. Resettlement refugees is multi-disciplinary issue that should be regarded carefully. Perceiving resettlement as layered problem, purpose this study help decision-makers with arduous planning by proposing multicriteria facility location and allocation problem accounts for physical capacities host cities, matching-opening dependencies sites, matching feasibility. We focus on significant objectives process: prioritization overall success process based socio-cultural differences improve social resilience cities along distances travel difficulties between origin locations. As result, model provides, Pareto-optimal solutions timing amount resettlement. The results show it would naïve approach solely maximization resettled considering only reason trade-offs among revealed multi-objective critical create realistic policies.
